Line Technician Rodeo
Santee Cooper line technicians put their know-how to the test each year at the Santee Cooper Lineworkers Rodeo. Take a look at the impressive skills and quick climbing displayed by the 21 apprentices at the event on Oct. 27.
This year, the rodeo took place at the line technician training yard at the utility’s Horry-Georgetown campus. The line technicians who competed are apprentices with fewer than five years’ experience. Each took a written test, followed by competitions in hurtman rescue, crossarm relocation, an obstacle course, and equipotential grounding.
