When Nicole wrote her first (and only!) book in 4th grade, she knew she wanted to paint pictures with words. After graduating from Ohio U with a degree in journalism, she set her sights on the city that never sleeps, becoming a PR rep and junior publicist for some well-known names in NYC. Nicole then moved to the sunny shores of South Carolina, taking the communication lead for tourism and local government organizations before landing in the utility industry. Within the “pages” of PowerSource and in other aspects of her role as Manager of Corporate Communications at Santee Cooper, she gets to keep the dream of telling stories alive.
Art Director
En route to an aspiring career as a star newspaper reporter, Jen took an intro to graphic arts elective class and fell in love with the play of color, shape and type. At her first production editor job, she learned the technical aspects of print. Shortly after that, she landed her first full-time design gig, and the rest is color-drenched history. While still loving design as a Creative Specialist — and the design guru of this magazine — at Santee Cooper, Jen raises two boys and many cats; loves fairy hair, neon pedicures and Ted Lasso; and will always have too many books and magazines in her home. To Jen, every day is a chance to learn new ways to fill the page.

As a career-long veteran of the utility industry, Jeff began his journey, shortly after obtaining his bachelor’s degree in communications, by caring for customers as a call taker for his hometown electric company. After his children left the nest, he and his wife followed their dream of moving to the great state of South Carolina, where he joined Santee Cooper as a Public Relations Specialist. Jeff has been practicing jiu jitsu since 2019 and enjoys spending his time coaching children at a local gym. He’s also been playing the drums since the age of 15 and has shared the stage with several national acts over the years.

Tracy is a journalist who spent nearly two decades in various markets covering everything from the raucous Iowa caucuses to hurricanes slamming the Grand Strand. She ran newsrooms, managing reporters over several different newscasts each day, and taught young journalists who went on to lucrative careers. She took a leap from news into the realm of public relations, and she has worked for United Way, an advertising agency and, presently, Santee Cooper as a Public Relations Specialist. Tracy spends her non-working time with her two children, Oliver and Vienna, often enjoying the outdoors.

Visual Editor and Photographer
Paul Zoeller, Creative Specialist and Corporate Photographer for Santee Cooper, has more than 20 years’ experience making clicking noises, and ultimately art, with his camera. A former award-winning photojournalist, he worked for news organizations across the United States before shooting his last press assignment seven years ago at the Post and Courier in Charleston. Paul previously chased breaking news and followed presidents; now he chases sunsets on the Santee Cooper Lakes and hurricane damage and power restoration to supplement his other responsibilities. When he’s not pushing buttons, Paul is an avid cyclist who prefers biking in the mountains to sightseeing in the city.
